EMU
EMU An abbreviation for Electric Multiple Unit, a type of suburban train used by QR Citytrain. These trains are recognised by the "EM" prefix on the carriage numbers (beside the doors), rounded yellow ends with numbers 01 to 88 on the bottom right, and a unique 'whining' sound when they are running. They were introduced from 1979 along with the electrification of the Brisbane suburban network.

For full information see the EMU fleet page.
