MU
Multiple Unit train. Refers to any kind of semi-permanently coupled set of cars. Normally the only time the cars in an MU are separated is for maintenance.

In QR, an MU is a generic term for any of the commuter electric trains in use, being the EMU, IMU and SMU. However, if all electric trains are to be considered, you can also add the ICE and tilt train.

Each car in an MU will consist of one of the four basic driving and/or motor configurations: DM, DT, M and T.
