Description
It's fast. QR Traveltrain's technologically advanced,
high-speed Tilt Train has revolutionised rail travel in Australia.
With its unique tilting mechanism and state-of-the-art design,
the exciting new Tilt Train has significantly reduced travel times
between Brisbane and Rockhampton with a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
It is, without a doubt, the train of the future.
The Tilt Train has six (6) carriages, featuring one Business
Class carriage (27 seats) and 5 Economy Class carriages (260 seats).
The train has facilities for people with disabilities and all
carriages feature spacious and secured overhead lockers and luggage racks.
All carriages have video terminals, and each seat has built-in
footrests and video/audio controls located in the armrest for
your entertainment and added comfort. Easy to use headsets are
distributed on board.
Business Class features dual and single seating,
able to rotate to face the opposite direction.
With a personal service call button located in the
armrest of your chair, food and drink is provided
to you at your seat.
The Economy Class carriages have two seats on either side of
the central aisle. A trolley service is available to your seat,
or passengers may buy snacks, drinks and meals from the galley.
On-board, there are pay-telephones and a fax machine.
A passenger information system provides details on current
speed and the expected time of arrival, while a
'driver perspective system' enables passengers to see the
driver's view in the lead carriage.
Once you arrive in tropical, historical Rockhampton, you can
venture on to the many luxurious resorts located close to the city,
like Great Keppel Island and the Capricorn International Resort.
Timetables effective 1st April, 2004 until 31st March, 2005:
19th November 2004: Due to a
derailment of a Cairns Tilt Train service on 15th November,
speed is limited to 100 km/h.
We do not have the new times yet.
Trains will depart the first station on time but the full journey
will take about an hour longer than scheduled below.
QROTI suggests you re-confirm your booking with QR
(details)
before committing to your travel plans.
