QR Citytrain: Concessional Fares (Children) If the child is under five (5) years, travel is free of charge. However, they must be accompanied by a person 16 years or older, who must agree to be responsible for the care of the child. If the child is five (5) to fourteen (14) years inclusive, travel is at half the normal adult single or return fare. (This concession does not apply to Multi-trip Weekly Tickets). Note: QR Citytrain does not provide carers to accompany children who are travelling alone. On-board staff have no authority to take responsibility for the well being of these children. Other conditions apply to any type of concessional ticket. Details are available at any attended QR Citytrain station. It is an offence to travel on a concession ticket when you are not entitled to one. Proof of entitlement to the concession must be produced upon request by authorised QR Citytrain staff.
