QR Citytrain:
Concessional Fares (School Students)

Primary and Secondary school students, travelling from their home station to and from school or official school event at the attending school (in school uniform, sports uniform or producing school ID where uniform is not applicable) during school term, pay one third* of normal adult fare.

Break of journey# is not permitted on School Travel Tickets. Students who do break a journey will be expected to purchase a half fare ticket, prior to boarding a train, for the completion of the journey.

Special discounts are available for term, semester and full school year tickets.

For travel outside school times and weekends (unless a designated school event) and for other travel, students five (5) to fifteen (15) years pay half the normal adult fare.

School students travelling on one third School Travel Tickets must vacate seats when adults are standing.

When not travelling to or from school, school students sixteen (16) years and over travel at half the normal adult fare on presentation of a Railways of Australia (ROA) Student Identification Card. ROA Cards are available from school administration offices.

Secondary school photo ID cards are NOT accepted to obtain concession travel for students sixteen (16) years and over.

Full time students attending an approved University or TAFE College may present their photo ID cards to obtain concessional travel on services.

Other conditions apply to any type of concessional ticket. Details are available at any attended QR Citytrain station.

It is an offence to travel on a concession ticket when you are not entitled to one. Proof of entitlement to the concession must be produced upon request by authorised QR Citytrain staff.

NOTES:
* Approximate calculation. Prices may change without notice.
# A transfer from one train to another to enable travel from station to station as nominated on a ticket is not considered a break of journey. A break of journey occurs when a passenger leaves the station premises.
